ABOUT THE STUDIOS: Originally an open plan stone warehouse of 1,800 sq. ft with very high ceilings, it has been converted into a 2,500 sq. ft. loft of twenty partitioned art spaces designed in a way to facilitate interaction among the resident artists and to allow at the same time wall space and some privacy. The group studio now combines a mix of different spaces in terms of sizes, prices and type, i.e. bright mezzanine spaces, or ground floor ones, small medium and larger sizes, open plan or private ones. ABOUT THE STUDIOS’ ARTISTS: The studios’artists range from painters to sculptors, mixed media artists and ceramists, antiquity restorers and glass artists. The resident artists represent a healthy mix of newly graduated, emerging artists and more established ones. Aim of the artists and the studios’ promoters is to achieve an ideal, trouble free artistic environment so as to facilitate creativity and cross fertilisation, to interact with other such similar artistic venture in Dublin City (and elsewhere) through joint open days and ultimately to exhibit the residents’ art work in galleries and art spaces. ABOUT THE LOCATION: The studios are located in the heart of the typical industrial landscape of the Dublin Docklands, at walking distance from the city centre, behind the Financial Centre Services; once a run down area, the Docklands are now one of most boosting and thriving areas of Dublin. GENERAL INFORMATION: Security and access in the studios are 24 hrs, 7 days a week; facilities include free car park, computer access and a communal area with sink. HOW TO JOIN THE STUDIOS: Phoenix studios would like to hear from artists interested in joining the studios so as to fill possible vacant spaces, on a regular basis. Letters of application and C.Vs should be sent to: PHOENIX ART STUDIOS C/ o Castleforbes Business Pk. Upper Sheriff St. D1. Contact: phoenixartstudios@yahoo.com +353 (0)87 2753944 |
